James E. Davidson

Jim Davidson is a retired US Army Infantry Lieutenant Colonel with 24 years of experience in a wide variety of operational assignments, including as Battalion and Brigade Operations Officer in the Opposing Forces Regiment (OPFOR) of the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. More recently, A former instructor/author at the Center for Army Tactics at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, he retired in 2002 after holding a tenure as Professor of Military Science and Leadership at the University of Tennessee-Martin. Lieutenant Colonel Davidson holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science from Morehead State University and a Masters of Public Affairs (MPA) in Human Resources from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Currently Jim is a senior research scientist at the Physical Sciences Laboratory, New Mexico State University. Jim leads a team of software engineers, mathematicians and software developers on a project to define and implement a System of Systems Agent Modeling Simulation to assess vulnerabilities to Leader Centric, Network Enabled Warfare envisioned for the Objective Force in 2015. As the project's domain analyst with a broad range of practical experiences in military decision making, Jim is responsible for conceptualizing, assessing and evaluating the combat decision making processes in the simulation. Jim is also pursuing a PHD in the area of Cognitive Science at the University of Paris, Sorbonne within the University's Institute of Information and Computer Science. His research topic is Multiple Perceptions from observations of the same situation instance.
