CADS to Participate in International Political Psychology Conference
WASHINGTON, DC, 5 July 2006 -- Dr. Jerrold Post of the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (CADS) will chair a panel as part of the International Society of Political Psychology Annual Scientific Meeting. The Center's Chief Scientist in Political Psychology will chair a panel on "Leadership in Latin America" and present a paper on "The Chavez Phenomenon: Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, Modern Day Bolivar."
Held in Barcelona July 12-15, the conference will focus on "The Political Psychology of Liberation, the Political Psychology of Oppression." Alan Steinberg, CADS Director of Central Operations, will be the main discussant of a panel on "Leadership and International Policy."
Dr. Post's panel will be held in room Aula 01 from 10:15 to 11:45 am. At his panel, Mr. Steinberg will also present a paper on "Individual Impact: How Leaders Influence the International System." The panel will be held in room Aula 02 from 1:15 to 2:45 pm.
This year's ISPP program is co-chaired by Dr. Yael Aronoff of Columbia University and Dr. Félix Vázquez of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Dr. Lupicinio Iniguez Rueda of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona chairs the conference. ISPP is an interdisciplinary organization concerned with research on the relationships between political and psychological processes. Members are drawn from a wide variety of disciplines and include psychologists, political scientists, psychiatrists, historians, sociologists, economists, anthropologists and government officials.
Dr. Jerrold Post is Chief Scientist, Political Psychology, and Alan Steinberg is the Director of Central Operations at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (CADS). The Center is a non-profit, non-governmental national security group that applies the intent-centric paradigm to promote research, innovation and education in the fields of information sciences, cognitive studies and information security.
